I’m a Bay Area journalist interested in how the arts intersects with money, power, business, and politics.

Originally from outside Philadelphia, I studied journalism and music at the University of Oregon. Before joining The San Francisco Standard, I was a staff reporter at the Pulitzer Prize–winning Point Reyes Light. My writing has also appeared in The New York Times and Squarecylinder.
